Windows Embedded Standard 7 Courses

Training objectives

In order to meet needs of developers ready to evaluate the Windows Embedded Standard technology, we designed two dedicated programs : one for Windows Embedded Standard 2009 and another one for Windows Embedded Standard 7 (last release of the OS version). As these programs are built to deliver similar technical levels, device maker development teams attending one or the other training class will:

• gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the WES technology like creating and configuring an image

• get a solid foundation for future WES 2009 or WES 7-based developments (depending on the course program delivered)

Audience

Primary audiences are technical professionals usually involved during the software design stage: BSP and firmware developers, as well as device application developers.

During this three-day core training, the trainer will combine a slide presentation with seven or nine practical hands-on labs (depending on the course program delivered) illustrating theoretical concepts by using real platforms:

To enable attendees leverage this three-day core session, they should have the following prerequisites:

• General understanding of embedded systems and their uses

• Use and configuration of Windows XP operating system

• Understanding of installing and configuring SW

Training objective

Due to attendees requesting extra knowledge to better acquaint themselves with Windows Embedded Standard development environment, we decided to provide this complete four-day instructor-led course with more hands-on labs, and:

• Enrich the three-day core session with advanced topics usually requested only by embedded developers

• Enable attendees to leverage this extra modules to better understand drivers development under WES

Audience

This four-day session including advanced topics is specifically intended for BSP and firmware developers, device application developers, as well as quality assurance engineers.

During this four-day course, the instructor will combine the three-day core content with a day dedicated to advanced topics. A PowerPoint presentation will be combined with 10 or 12 practical hands-on labs (depending on the course program delivered) illustrating theoretical concepts:

• General understanding of embedded systems and their uses

• Use and configuration of Windows XP operating system

Training objectives

This course program specially designed by our engineers is intended to meet specific developers needs around drivers development under the Windows Embedded Standard Suite. Going through the different modules, attendees will:

• Understand WES 7 (or WES 2009) driver stack

• Identify the different drivers' families

• Be able to integrate a driver in WES development tools

• Become familiar with debugging of a WES driver

• Understanding of either Windows XP or Windows 7 system architecture (depending on the session)

• Knowledge of computer hardware

• Familiarity with Windows Registry
