Windows Embedded Compact 7 Unified BSP for TI Cortex-A8 Processors

September 22 2011

Adeneo Embedded and Texas Instruments (TI) collaborated to port the existing Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 “unified” board support package (BSP) for TI Cortex-A8 processors and associated TI Evaluation Modules (EVMs) to Windows Embedded Compact (WEC) 7.

This WEC7 BSP designed for TI AM35x processor family, OMAP35x processor family and AM/DM37x processor family supports following evaluation platforms:

This joint collaboration confirms our extensive expertise with TI Cortex-A8 based processors family and our capability to help device makers develop custom designs using OMAP35x processors, AM35x/AM37x Sitara microprocessors and DM37x DaVinci™ digital media processors with leading operating systems like Windows Embedded Compact, Android and Embedded Linux.

The WEC7 common core source code for TI Cortex-A8 processors family has been already integrated in other solutions like our WEC7 reference BSP for the BeagleBoard-xM (see the related news), Gumstix Overo computer-on-modules and the PTI Flashboard.

TI Cortex-A8 solutions

Being an OMAP Developer Network member and an active Texas Instruments partner on Windows Embedded CE/Compact, Linux and Android, we also support customers on the TI E2E Support Community forum, a central place to find support when you get started working with a solution like the “unified” BSP for TI Cortex-A8 processors or TI Cortex-A9 based processors. For us, it is a great way to help/get feedback from final users of the unified BSP, that contribute to our continuous effort towards improving our work (visit the WinCE forum)
